The striker couldn’t make his bow as expected on Tuesday’s night but he may be fortunate during the cup game this weekend
Former Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku couldn’t make his debut with USM Alger in Algeria when they shared the spoils 1-1 with E.S Setif in Algerian Ligue 1 last night.
Opoku, who before the game expressed his excitement after being named in the matchday squad, was an unused substitute.
Alger took the lead in the game by the 56th minute mark through 23-year-old midfielder Billel Benhamouda but a late penalty from Houssam Ghacha saved Setif’s blushes with only five minutes remaining.
Opoku could make his bow this weekend when USM Alger host MC Alger in a local derby derby in Coup De La Ligue (Algerian version of FA Cup) on Saturday.
Former Hearts of Oak and Dreams FC forward Joseph Esso will also likely make his debut for MC Alger in that game.
