Isaac Mensah and Larry on target as Hearts defeat Adabraka Elders FC in pre-season friendly

The Phobians began their pre-season on on high as they brushed aside the lower division side in their first game of the many friendlies to be played

Hearts of Oak defeated Division Two side Adabraka Elders FC 3-0 in their first pre-season friendly at the Legon School Park on Wednesday.

The Phobians, who are preparing for the upcoming Caf Champions League preliminary round fixture against Guinean side CI Kamsar, were without first choice goalkeeper Richard Attah and influential midfielder Afriyie Barnieh. However, goalkeeper Ben Mensah and others stood in to put up a spirited performance.

A brace from forward Isaac Mensah in the first half of the game and another wonderful goal by Larry Sumaila did the job for Samuel Boadu’s men.

Adabraka Elders played very well to the admiration of the Hearts top hierarchy but they could not pose too much troubles upfront to the Phobians even when a lot of the players were substituted after the break.

Hearts are expected to play an international friendly during the weekend before they leave Ghana for game against Kamsar on September 12.

Caf has officially confirmed that Malian referee Ibrahima Keita Sory will be the centre referee when CI Kamsar host Ghana champions Hearts of Oak in the preliminary round of the 2021/22 Caf Champions League.

The game has been scheduled for September 12 and it will kick off on 4pm Ghana time at the Nongo-Stade General Lansana Conte in Conakry.

Sory will be assisted by countrymen Drissa Kamory Naire and Amadou Belly Guisse Amadou as line one and two respectively.

Also, Harouna Coulibaly from Mali will be fourth referee while Oner Kouame Dehoule from Cote D’Ivoire acts as the Match Commissioner.

Senegalese Fadouma Dia Dia will play the role as match assessor whiles Mohamed Tafsir Soumah from Guinea performs the role as Covid-19 protocol officer.
