The midfielder showered praise on his new coach after playing his first game for the Porcupine Warriors at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium following his return to the club
Asante Kotoko midfielder Justice Blay has heaped praise on coach Prosper Ogum Narteh after making his second home debut for the club in their 3-1 win over Accra Lions at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Saturday.
The midfielder was a second half substitute in the defeat to Elmina Sharks on Monday but was handed a starting role this time following the absence of Mudasiru Salifu.
And the 28-year-old had a wonderful game, covering almost all spaces and was involved in one of three goals scored by Cameroonian striker Etuoga Mbella Frank Thierry.
“The feeling was good especially to play my first game at home for Kotoko after joining the club,” Blay said at Post Match Conference as quoted by AshesGyamera.com.
“However, I will thank the coach [Prosper Ogum Narteh] and technical team for helping me to adapt to the system being used here. He is good and I’m very grateful but I hope that as time goes on, I will be able to perfectly fit into the system,” he added.
Blay further insisted that Kotoko are runaway league leaders and advised the supporters to start trooping to the stadium during home games in order to lift the trophy in a grand style.
“I will tell the fans to come to the park [Baba Yara Sports Stadium] to support us so that we can continue to win games in order to win the league title,” Blay said
“We are even champions already because if you check the numbers of matches ahead of us the supporters inputs will complement our efforts to lift the trophy.
“So I will plead with the supporters who have been away for sometime to return to the stadium during home games and rally behind us so we can achieve our target of winning the league,” he added.
Blay scored against Hearts of Oak two seasons ago and he is expected to start against them next weekend in the outstanding league game.
Kotoko now lead the Premier League log with 36 points, six points better than second placed Bechem United.
