Hearts of Oak deny selling Winful Conbinah to Viborg FF

Hearts of Oak management member Alhaji Akambi says poste boy Winful ‘Skillful’ Cobinnah has not joined Viborg FF in a three-year deal as report in the media.

The 23-year-old, who is currently in Denmark and commenced training with the club on Tuesday, was initially reported to have been sold for £75,000 but Akambi insists that is not true, adding that he only joined then on a two-week trial.

“Winful Cobbinah hasn’t been sold to Viborg. He was rather invited for a trial so it is a not permanent deal,” Akambi told Happy FM.

“If the club wants him then we will talk about his price and future. There is no doubt that he is a good player and his absence will be felt as we are preparing for the new season. However, we wish him well,” he added.

Cobbinah joined Hearts mid-season of the previous campaign and helped them to finish fourth in the Ghana Premier League as well as second in the FA Cup.

He was also among the 18 players that participated and won the 2017 Wafu Cup of Nations for Ghana.
