The debutants boss says his side deserved something better than a defeat after dominating the Porcupine Warriors throughout the game
Bibiani Gold Stars coach Michael Osei believes his side were better than Asante Kotoko despite losing 1-0 in Ghana Premier League matchday three fixture played at the Dun’s Park in Bibiani on Friday.
A second half goal from 18-year-old Isaac Oppong ‘Neymar’ was all what Kotoko need to break down a resilient defence of Gold Stars.
The victory means that Kotoko have picked three wins in a row while Gold Stars have tasted their first defeat at home after almost two years.
“First of all, Let me congratulate my boys for such performance. They did their best today but we were just unlucky to concede that goal,” Osei said after the game.
“It’s very painful that we couldn’t get at least a point today [against Asante Kotoko] because it was a game that we dominated and controlled the entire duration with several goal glaring opportunities”
“Defeat is part of the game but it is very painful to lose such points to Asante Kotoko. We’ll continue to work hard for the subsequent games” he concluded.
Kotoko, who will host Techiman Eleven Wonders next, now top the log with nine points, three points ahead of second place King Faisal who face Ashanti Gold in Ashanti derby at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
