Ghana Police Service arrest one suspect who beat Nsoatreman coach Maxwell Konadu

The country’s law enforcing body has swiftly arrested one person in connection of the alleged beating of former Black Stars assistant coach

Ghana Police Service has officially announced the arrest of one member of the mob that physically assaulted Nsoatreman coach Maxwell Konadu during Ghana Premier League matchday 11 fixture against Bofoakwa Tano at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Sunday.

After the game ended goalless, a section of the fans felt cheated and pounced on the referees before they later turned their attention to Konadu and some players of Nsoatreman.

Musah Gaswan was arrested at his hideout in Sunyani following the intelligence from the investigation team of the Police Department.

However, one suspect, name withheld is on the run as the Police Service continue their search for him in and around Bono and Ahafo regions.

“The Police have arrested suspect Seidu Musah alias Gaswan in connection with the attack on the coach of Nsoatreman FC, Mr. Maxwell Konadu,” an official statement read.

“The suspect, together with one other person, currently on the run, attacked the coach during a football game, yesterday, 19th November 2023, at the Sunyani Coronation Park.

“Suspect Seidu Musah is currently in Police custody assisting the investigation while efforts are still ongoing to get the other suspect arrested to face justice, and we will surely get him,” the statement read.
