The striker who is now a free agent is ready to rejoin the Porcupine Warriors for free before he hangs his boots
Former Zamalek and Legon Cities striker Benjamin Acheampong has admitted that he is ready to play for Asante Kotoko for free.
The 31-year-old joined Kotoko in 2011 from WA All Stars, now Legon Cities, and spent two seasons at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium before joining Angolan giants Petro De Luanda in a lucrative move.
Acheampong has since plied his trade in several counties and but he is currently a free agent.
“Kotoko are doing well and I hope that it continues so that everyone at the club will be happy,” Acheampong told Asempa FM.
“I am ever ready to rejoin the club when the chance availa itself. I don’t mind playing for Kotoko for free. It’s not about the money.
“I really love Kotoko and would want to wear the jersey once again if the need arises. I would wish to play for them again even without taking salaries,” he added.
Acheampong has been a free agent since 2018 after he left Qatari side Al-Shamal in 2018.
Kotoko have had good start to this season’s Ghana Premier League after picking nine points out of nine.
The Porcupine Warriors will host Techiman Eleven Wonders at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Saturday.
