Accra Lions striker Evans Etti has signed a three-year contract with Chinese second-tier club Heilongjiang Ice City FC after a wonderful campaign in the Ghana Division One League last season.
Accra Lions surprisingly gained a historic promotion from Zone 3 to the Ghana Premier League ahead of favorites Tema Youth and Etti was one of the main reasons behind their success story.
Etti scored ten goals and provided ten assists to help Lions top the league log to the surprise of many soccer pundits.
Accra Lions Manager Ishmael Hamidu was full of praise of Etti and other players who have left the club for greener pastures and believes they will continue to produce quality players in their absence.
“Etti’s move to China is yet another proof that Accra Lions became a globally recognized brand. Nine players left us for Europe and four players to Asia in recent years,” he said.
“We can proudly say that every player who performs well for Accra Lions gains worldwide recognition. We wish him all the best and every success in his future career,” he added.
