‘Defeat WAC of Morocco & get GH₵1,000 each,’ Top politician Akpaloo tells Hearts players

The Phobians have been promised to defeat the North African club in the first leg and take home an incentive package

Founder and leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana, Percival Kofi Akpaloo, has urged Hearts of Oak players to defeat Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco in the first leg of the Caf Champions League and receive a package of GH₵1,000 each.

The Phobians are billed to host the North African club on October 17 at the Accra Sports Stadium and a resounding results will mean that the return leg will be a mere formality in Rabat.

Hearts eliminated Guinean side CI Kamsar in the preliminary round thanks to a 3-1 victory at the Accra Sports Stadium.

“I will give every Hearts player ¢1,000 should they beat WAC on Sunday,” Akpaloo told Otec FM in an interview.

“I will give every Hearts of Oak player ¢1,000 and ¢2,000 to the coach should they beat WAC at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

“So far as Hearts is a Ghanaian team, it’s my prayer they progress to the next stage of the competition

“They should go all out with the Phobian spirit as they did to win the Ghana Premier league,” he added

Caf has ordered that only 2,000 spectators should be allowed into the stadium to watch the game due to COVID-19 scare in the country.

The winner after the two legs will qualify to group stage while the loser will drop to the Caf Confederation Cup.

Hearts last reached the group stage in 2000 and went on to win the competition and Super Cup.
