WA all Stars chief executive officer Oduro Nyarko has revealed that all the 16 Ghana Premier League clubs are ready to participate in the upcoming season despite lack of headline sponsors.

Following the unexpected termination of contract between First Capital Plus Bank and the Premier League board in 2015, there hasn’t being any headline sponsors, despite StarTimes coming on board to purchase the television rights until 2027.

Although, many clubs have been complaining about lack of financial power, the former league champion’s chief insists it is not a new thing.

“Ghana FA is still looking for sponsorship for the league but the clubs are already used to the current system. We have been playing the previous seasons without any sponsorships,” Nyarko told Otec FM, in an interview with Osei Akoto Kanu.

“We played last two seasons and last season’s league without any sponsorship and it was successful, so we are ready and willing to play.

“The most important thing now is that we are all waiting for the scheduled date to start the league as expected. We can’t say there is no sponsor so we won’t play the league,” he added

According to Nyarko, the GFA’s annual general congress will take place between February 7-8 at Prampram.

AshesGyamera understands that the ruling for the case at Court of Arbitration for Sports involving Ghana FA, Techiman City and Techiman Eleven Wonders, will be released in the coming days after City fulfilled all charges expected for the case to be heard.

The outcome will decide whether City or Wonders will participate in the upcoming campaign.
