The centre-back has added his name to the limited list of players to have netted for the Black Stars but his own comes in a unique way
Ghana defender Salisu Mohammed has set a new record for himself at the Fifa World Cup as he scored the opening goal for the Black Stars against South Korea.
The Southampton centre-back connected a cross from Jordan Ayew to unsettle the Koreans in the first half.
Salisu’s goal makes him the first and only defender to have scored a goal for Ghana at any World Cup since the Black Stars made their debut appearance in 2006.
Meanwhile, his goal also meant the Black Stars have scored in all their last seven games at the World Cup.
Meanwhile, Ajax Amsterdam forward Kudus Mohammed also scored his debut goal for Ghana as the West African giants went into the break with a two-goal advantage.
Ghana would need to avoid a defeat against Uruguay on final day of Group H to stand a chance of qualifying to the round of 16.
