Bechem United report referee Maxwell Owusu to Ghana FA after his late penalty call ended their unbeaten run

The Hunters feel cheated by the referee’s actions in their last game against Medeama and have now lodged a complaint against him

Bechem United have officially lodged a complaint against referee Maxwell Owusu following their 1-0 defeat against Medeama on matchday eighteen of Ghana Premier League at the Akoon’s Park in Tarkwa last weekend.

The referee awarded a late penalty to Medeama which was scored by Vincent Atinga, however, Bechem felt cheated and have officially lodged a complaint against the referee and his assistant.

The defeat means that Bechem’s eleven game unbeaten run came to an end and they conceded their second goal for the in six games.

“We have lodged a formal complaint with the Ghana Football Association against referee Owusu Maxwell and his assistant 2 and the 4th referee over their conducts in Sunday’s #GPL matchday-18 game against MedeamaSC at the Akoon Park.”

Bechem have moved down to third on Ghana Premier League log after the defeat. They will host Asante Kotoko next week Tuesday at the Fosu Gyeabour Park on Tuesday.
