The Porcupine Warriors have added one international player to their squad as they prepare to mesmerize other clubs in the upcoming season
Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of Cameroonian striker Mfeuge Georges Omgba from Avion Academy of Douala in a three-year deal, AshesGyamera.com can confirm.
The 24-year-old was signed as a replacement for Uganda striker Steven Mukwala after Kotoko failed to land his services despite several attempts.
Mfegue is equally good with both feet and has been a key member of Avion as his goals and assists helped the club to gain promotion to the Cameroonian top-flight in 2018.
In the last three seasons, Mfegue has ended as Avion’s topscorer in the league, scoring a combined 26 goals and provided 29 assists in the process.
Last season, he scored ten goals and provided six assists to finish as the second highest scorer in Cameroon Premier League.
Mfegue, who is noted for his speed, power and exquisite finishing ability in the final third, is expected to travel from Cameroon to Dubai and join his new teammates as Kotoko continue with their pre-season in the Gulf region.
He has become the twelfth player signed by Asante Kotoko in this year’s transfer window.
Mfegue joins Dickson ‘Yaw Dick’ Afoakwa, Augustine Agyapong, Sheriff Mohammed and Samuel Appiah as the new players to arrive at Kotoko. The others include Clinton Opoku, Richmond Lamptey, Maxwell Agyemang, Samuel Boateng, Isaac Oppong and Richard Boadu.
AshesGyamera’s sources have revealed that Berekum Chelsea captain Stephen Amankonah has arrived in Dubai to join Kotoko after also sealing a three-year deal with the club. Kotoko are expected to announce his signing together with Mfegue this week.
