The Porcupine Warriors chief insists that they are ready to challenge for the title this season following their tour to Dubai

Asante Kotoko director of communications David Obeng Nyarko has insisted that they are ready to make an impact in the upcoming season.

The Porcupine Warriors failed to win a trophy last season as they finished second behind Hearts of Oak and were bundled out of the FA Cup in the round of 16 by Berekum Chelsea.

As a result, the club parted ways with head coach Mariano Baretto and assistant coach Johnson Smith.

Prosper Ogum Narteh was then brought on board with his two assistants and the club has been in Dubai for the past two weeks on a training tour.

Although, Kotoko have failed to win any of their pre-season friendlies played in Dubai, Nyarko believes they fully prepared for the challenge ahead.

“We are ready for the upcoming season This is Asante Kotoko and we are fully prepared for any tournament so I can say for a fact that we are ready,” Nyarko told Otec FM.

“We are hoping that our fans will also be ready and add their numbers and quota to us so we can get a perfect team to compete.”

Kotoko are expected back in Ghana on Friday and they will play their first game of the season against Dreams FC in Dawu.

They will then host Bechem United in the first home game on November 7 before they travel to Bibiani to face Gold Stars a week later.
