It was all fun when the first gentleman of the land got hold of the awesome jersey which the Porcupine Warriors will use for the new season
Ghana president Nana Akufo-Addo was presented with a replica jersey of Asante Kotoko’s new kits when the club’s top hierarchy paid a courtesy call to him at the Flagstaff house in Accra.
Nana Yaw Amponsah, CEO of Kotoko gave Akufo-Addo two jerseys including one home and away kits and the president was full of praise of the quality.
“Thank you for this nice jersey from your new providers,” he said.
“I hope you will make Otumfour and all Ghanaians proud with this when the season starts especially in the Caf Champions League, ” he added.
Akufo-Addo further promised to assist Kotoko financially after they made a humble appeal for financial aid.
“Kotoko a very special, cherished and enviable role in Ghanaian Sports development. Clearly it’s possible the Government should be able to assist the club,these will be temporary measures over a period of time, a year or two. Ultimately the club should be self sufficient, generating money for keeping the club going,” Akufo-Addo said.
“We will put our heads together to see what can be done to assist,through the minister of sports .
I think it’s in the interest of Ghana to have a strong participation to fly the flag of Ghana.”
