The Porcupines failed to make it two wins in a row as they shared the spoils with a lower tier side in Koforidua

Ghana Premier League record winners Asante Kotoko failed to record their second victory as part of their pre-season when they shared the spoils 2-2 with with Akosombo-based Division One League side Krystal Palace at the All Nation University school Park on Tuesday.

Maxwell Konadu’s charges were billed to play a friendly on Saturday but it was called off in the eleventh hour before arrangements were made to test the players’ performances against Palace.

An early goal by midfielder Adom Frimpong by the seventh minute gave Kotoko a perfect start before Naby Keita doubled the lead from the spot on the 30th minute after deputy captain Emmanuel Gyamfi was brought down in the box by his marker.

After the break, Kotoko made several changes in their squad which gave their opponents the chance to improve and pull one back against the run of play.

With few minutes to full time, Krystal Palace benefited from a defensive blunder and snatched an equaliser to the dismay of Kotoko coach Konadu.

AshesGyamera.com understands that Kotoko could play another friendly on either Friday or Saturday as they gradually seek to wrap up their tour to the Eastern region.

Kotoko, who won their first pre-seasongame 3-0 against Odweanoma FC, will open their GPL account with a home game against Techiman Eleven Wonders on November 15 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
