The Cameroonian striker hit brace against Dreams to start the second round of the Ghana Premier League
Asante Kotoko defeated Dreams FC 2-0 on matchday eighteen of Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
A late brace from Etouga Mbella was all what Kotoko needed after struggling to break down the resilience defence of the visitors early in the game.
Dreams were the first to get a chance in the game by the tenth minute but Huzaf Ali shot wide with only goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim to beat.
Few minutes later, Kotoko came close to poke their noses in front but Mfegue’s shot was blocked.
After the break, Kotoko doubled their performance and started causing troubles to Dreams backline.
Kotoko were handed a penalty on 71st minute after Mbella was brought down by onrushing goalkeeper Augustine Koomsom. The Cameroonian striker was played through by Richmond Lamptey and he intelligent drew a foul from the goalkeeper.
Etouga stepped up for the resulting kick and perfectly slotted it in for the opener.
Etouga added another goal by 82nd minute after a through pass from his teammate. Although, his initial shot was denied by the goal post, he was at the right place at the right time to tap in the rebound.
Kotoko now have 40 points after 18 games, ten points above Bechem United who also lost to Medeama in Tarkwa.
