Afriyie Barnieh starts as Black Stars face Switzerland in friendly ahead of World Cup

The youngster has been handed a starting role as the Black Stars play their last game before the World Cup kicks off

Ghana coach Otto Addo has named Hearts of Oak youngster Daniel Afriyie Barnieh in the starting line up as Black Stars play Switzerland in a friendly ahead of 2022 Fifa World Cup to be staged in Qatar.

The 21-year-old is expected to start upfront alongside Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams in search of goals.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi starts in post ahead of Manaf Nurudeen and Danlad Ibrahim while Andre Ayew and his younger brother Jordan Ayew also start.

Ghana will play their first game at the World Cup against Portugal on November 24 before they face South Korea four days later.
