Aduana Stars 3-2 Berekum Chelsea: Emmanuel Gyamfi’s brace secures first position for Ogya Boys

The midfielder put up a splendid performance against Bibires in the Bono derby as he sent his goal tally to five

Aduana Stars defeated Berekum Chelsea 3-2 on matchday nine of Ghana Premier League at Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa Ahenkro on Sunday.

Aduana went into the game on the back of five games winning streak and were sharing the top spot with King Faisal.

After a cagey first half, where chances were at a premium, both sides improved after the break and tested the goalkeepers.

Emmanuel Gyamfi connected a pass from Bright Agyei by the 48th minute but his last ditch effort was saved by goalkeeper Sekyere Gregory Obeng.

However, Gyamfi was fortunate the second time asking. The midfielder connected a pass from his teammate and fired past the onrushing goalkeeper by the 67th minute.

Gyamfi doubled Aduana’s lead five minutes later with another wonderful strike to send the home fans into an awesome jubilation.

Aduana made it 3-0 by the 86th minute through Sam Adams.

However, Berekum Chelsea launched a late comeback as Stephen Anokye Badu and Isaac Kwakye scored two late goals in additional time.

Although, the visitors pushed men forward in an attempt to pull even, Aduana’s defence were resolute and held on to secure a priceless win.

Aduana now top the log with 20 points, three points ahead of Asante Kotoko who have a game in hand against Hearts of Oak.
