The Phobians’ first game of the season will not come on as scheduled after several players were reported to have tested positive of COVID-19

Ghana Premier League opening day game between Aduana Stars and Hearts of Oak which was scheduled to take place at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park on Saturday has been called off, AshesGyamera.com can confirm.

Reports earlier indicated that more than half of Hearts’ first team players have been tested positive of Coronavirus disease and although the club’s spokesman Kwame Opare Addo denied that suggestions, Ghana FA has confirmed the rumours with less than 24 hours to go.

“Aduana Stars’  Ghana Premier League Match-day 1 clash against Hearts of Oak has been called off,” a statement by Ghana FA read.

“This decision was taken after the GFA was informed that Players and Officials of Hearts of Oak will need further tests before playing a match.

“Further tests will be conducted by the Public Health services.


The GPL match which was scheduled to be played at the Agyeman Badu Park I on Saturday November 14,  is postponed till further notice. The GFA has taken steps to inform the both teams and all other stakeholders,” the statement added.
