The football association’s chief has advised the Black Stars to achieve success on Thursday when they face Sudan in the Afcon qualifiers

Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku has challenged the Black Stars to ‘step on the pitch’ and make Ghanaians loud and proud when the lock horns with Sudan in 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

Ghana are seeking their third win in a row after victories over South Africa and Soa Tome to further seize top spot in Group I.

Although, head coach C.K Akonnor has had uninspiring preparations due to injuries which prevented him from having a full house, Okraku believes the Black Stars can still achieve success.

“First, is to thank all of you for coming. [This is] because we all know the circumstances that has confronted not only the world, but ourselves as individuals. All of us as individuals, had the option to stay away but you guys have decided to come for Ghana,” Okraku was quoted as saying by Ghanafa.org.

“I thank you. This journey started some months ago with the game against South Africa and we exited this premises as victors. Tomorrow all of us have an opportunity to continue with that success story.

“I believe we have enough quality here, to make us proud tomorrow. I know you guys have sacrificed a lot but tomorrow is the day to show to the World that your sacrifice means a lot. It is possible and tomorrow let’s go onto the pitch and fight.

“We have no bullets, but we have our feet, we have our heads. Let’s go onto the pitch and fight and let’s make history together. I thank you so much. I wish you guys the best of luck and May Almighty God see us through tomorrow,” he added.

With the game to be played at 16h00 GMT behind closed doors due to Caf’s new instructions as a result of Coronavirus disease, it will be beamed live on GTV and GTV Sports + for Ghanaians to watch in the comfort of their homes.
