The Ghanaian side will be hoping to cause a major upset in Algeria without a head coach in the second leg of the CAF Champions League tie

Ghana Premier League champions Bibiani Gold Stars are on their way to Algiers, capital city of Algeria ahead of CAF Champions League second leg encounter in the preliminary stage.

The Gye Nyame lads suffered a 2-0 home defeat in the first leg at Accra Sports Stadium last weekend. They will now have to double their efforts in order to overturn the scoreline and stand a chance of progressing to the next stage of the competition.

Gold Stars are making the trip without their head coach Frimpong Manso, who was sacked for poor performance after the first leg. In his absence, Godwin Ablordey and other two assistant coaches have been given the nod to steer affairs in North Africa.

Chief executive officer Kwesi Adu and other members of the club’s management team have already arrived in Algeria to prepare ground for the team.
