The highly-rated youngster was the talk of the event after leaving the podium with quadruple trophies
Ghanaian prodigy Yaw Anane Owusu-Ansah made history in the United Kingdom after becoming the first Ghanaian to win four awards at the Grassroad Sharks U-13 end of the season awards night held in the United Kingdom.

The event, which took place on Saturday, May 17, 2005 saw Yaw being awarded as Players’ Player of the Year, Goal King, Most MVPs, and Player of the Season after only his first season with them since arriving from Ghana with his family.

Grassroad coach Vinny was full of praise of Yaw’s quality and addition to his squad and believes he is one for the future.
“What a good striker he is. He has played very well since he joined us,” Vinny revealed.
“He is a great addition and we expect more from him next season,” he added.
After 11 games, Yaw scored 11 goals and provided 13 assists. He also won seven Man of the Match awards in the process.
Yaw is the son of Ghanaian journalist and lecturer Dr. Frank Owusu-Ansah of Kessben FM/TV.
