The shot-stopper was literally the only stumbling block between Kotoko’s push for a win against Medeama on Sunday
Medeama’s Ivorian goalkeeper Boris Junior Mandjui had a wonderful game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium despite losing 1-0 against Asante Kotoko as he made several incredible saves.
The former Salitas and Asec Mimosas shot-stopper, who joined Medeama in October 2021 in a three-year deal from Association Sportive de L’Indénié, was all what Medeama needed to stay in the game.
He made several point-blank saves and even saved a late penalty from Georges Mfegue Rodrigues when Kotoko wanted to finish of the game.
Although, Mfegue benefited from a Samuel Frimpong’s mistake to score the only goal of the game, Mandjui was adjudged the Man of the Match.
Kotoko supporters will obviously remember his name for the good show he put up against their club.
Kotoko currently top the Premier League table with 30 points, six points better than Aduana Stars who sit second place.
They also lead rivals Hearts of Oak by 10 points and the two sides will meet in the outstanding game on February 20 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
