The Phobians defender was rushed to the hospital after collapsing in what appears to be a cardiac arrest

Hearts of Oak defender Mohammed Alhassan was rushed to the hospital few minutes after full time in the goalless draw against Legon Cities at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The defender who saw full action dropped to the ground after full time and his teammates quickly rushed to the scene and called on the medics to save the situation.

After some quick examination Alhassan, he was rushed out of the stadium in an ambulance and then move out to a nearby hospital.

It is unclear what led to his sudden collapse but reports suggest he may have suffered from a cardiac arrest just like what happened to Argentina and Barcelona forward Sergio Kun Aguero on Saturday in All Liga.

Hearts coach Samuel Boadu has announced his squad to face Legon Cities in the Ghana Premier League opening day fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Following the bizarre performance by Hearts in the Caf Champions League against Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club, where they suffered a 6-1 thrashing, Salim Adams was handed a starting place ahead of Caleb Amankwah but the youngster couldn’t change a lot things in the game.

Isaac Mensah, Kofi Kordzi and Daniel Afriyie Barnieh led the attack for the Phobians as they were kept at bay by the Legon defenders.
