The Serbian was set to be unveiled as the new Black Stars coach but the Sports ministry is not ready to confirm his second coming
The Ministry of Youth and Sports has vehemently rejected claims that they have agreed to appoint Serbian coach Milovan Rajevac as the new Ghana senior national team coach.
Talking to Angel FM on Thursday, deputy Youth and Sports minister, Evans Bobie, insisted that they have not met Milovan despite reports suggesting that he is in the country.
He also added that the ministry has not received any official letter from Ghana Football Association introducing the Serbian to them as a suitor to the vacant job.
“We haven’t approved Milovan Rajevac as the new Black Stars coach,” Bobie said.
“We are even yet to receive the GFA committee’s report.
“Per our checks as a ministry, we have not seen Milovan. We have not even received any reports from the FA regarding the appointment of a new coach not to talk about Milovan.”
“He is not the coach of Ghana as I’m speaking to you today so the reports are untrue,” he added.
Earlier reports in the local media suggested that Milovan was going to earn between $30,000 and $45,000 salary per each month and a whopping $100,000 as signing on fee. He was also believed to be paid $300,000 if he guides Ghana to win 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
Milovan was the coach that led Ghana to the quarterfinals of the 2010 Fifa World Cup staged in South Africa.
He was later adjudged the Best coach of the year in Africa that year.
