Neymar not angered by PSG boos after Cavani penalty snub, says Silva

The world’s most expensive player was whistled by his own fans after he showed a lack of generosity to his Uruguayan team-mate

Neymar was not angry despite being whistled by Paris Saint-Germain supporters during an 8-0 thrashing of Dijon, in which the Brazilian was in inspired form, according to club captain Thiago Silva.

The world’s most expensive player scored four goals as the Ligue 1 leaders ran riot on Wednesday , extending their advantage from nearest rivals Lyon to 11 points ahead of Sunday’s game between the two sides.
Neymar also provided a pair of assists in a glittering individual performance, but he was involved in another on-pitch disagreement with strike partner Edinson Cavani .

The Uruguayan headed in PSG’s third goal of the night to draw level with the club’s record goalscorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic on 156 in all competitions.

But when Cavani won a late penalty with the score at 7-0 and Neymar having already wrapped up his hat-trick, the former Barcelona man denied his colleague the chance to surpass Ibrahimovic.

The Parc des Princes crowd chanted for Cavani to take the kick and Neymar was whistled after he stepped up to convert from 12 yards, but Silva insisted the Brazilian was unaffected by the reaction to his decision to take the penalty.
“No, I do not think he was angry when he left,” Silva told Canal+.
“There was some of the supporters against him, but the most important thing is the final score and the win.
“And for Edi, the record will come. He scores all the time, there are still a lot of games to play this year, he will beat all records.”
Unfortunately for PSG coach Unai Emery, his side’s thrilling demolition of Dijon was partly overshadowed by Neymar’s lack of generosity by denying Cavani his share of the spotlight, but the former Sevilla coach insists all is well in camp.
“Cavani, he is our goalscorer, he improved a lot, his individual statistics help the team and the team help him get his goals,” Emery said.
“Neymar hit the penalty kick and he [Cavani] will have other chances to score more goals. The team is better with Neymar. All wins and stats are made to benefit the whole team.”

Despite Neymar hogging the headlines again, Emery felt PSG’s performance was their best of the season so far, with the 8-0 scoreline their most emphatic victory of the Spaniard’s 18-month reign.
“We talk a lot about maintaining the level and the requirement to build a team with a strong mentality,” Emery said.
“With each match, we will seek the best performance to grow and improve when the most important matches will arrive.
“It is possible that it is the best game of PSG in the league this season, the team played together the whole game, the whole team shone.”

Ronaldinho and Ronaldo have better dribbling skills than Messi, says Sadick

The Porcupine Warriors forward has outlined the players with awesome dribbling skills and the list is without the Catalans superstar

Asante Kotoko striker Sadick Adams believes former Barcelona and Brazil superstar Ronaldinho Gaucho, Cristiano Ronaldo and Jay Jay Okocha are footballers with better dribbling skills than Argentina captain Lionel Messi.

The 26-year-old was showering praise on Ronaldinho following the one-time Fifa Player of the Year winner’s decision to finally hang his boots from competitive football.

And with many currently trying to liken Messi’s dribbling skills to Ronaldinho and the former’s rival Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadickbelieves Messi is no where close to them.

“Players that make us learn a different dribbling skill to go pass players are [Jay Jay] Okocha, Ronaldinho and Cristiano Ronaldo’s days in Sporting [Lisbon] and Manchester Utd and now Neymar,” Sadick wrote on Facebook.

[Messi?] ….Not at all bro but those I mentioned got it all when it comes to football dribbling skills to take on players.

However, Sadick admits that Messi is fast and has quick feet.

“…Messi got that faint, quick feet and fast running pass players,” he added.

Sadick is currently nursing an injury following his awkward landing in the game against Hearts of Oak in second leg of the Ghana @60 celebration Cup.

Techiman Eleven Wonders sign goalkeeper John Mosie

The top-flight’s debutants have announced the capture of the shot-stopper ahead of the new season

Techiman Eleven Wonders have completed the signing of Berekum Chelsea goalkeeper John Moosie on a two-year deal, the club have confirmed.

The experience shot-stopper fell down the pecking order at the club and opted to join the newly promoted side who are strengthening their squad following their abysmal performance in the Ghalca G6 pre-season tournament.

Wonders finished bottom on the in Group after losing all their three matches to Asante Kotoko, Dreams FC and Aduana Stars.

Mosie has become the latest experienced player to join the club after former Asante Kotoko midfielder Larbi Koomson and King Faisal captain Iddrisu Yahaya.

AshesGyamera understands that despite the signings being made by Wonders, they have a pending case at Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) against city rivals Techiman City and the results may see them not playing in the league if they are declared losers.

Asante Kotoko 0-0 (2-4 on pen.) Hearts of Oak: Phobians cruise to G8 final

Hearts of Oak defeated Asante Kotoko 4-2 on penalties in the semifinals of the 2018 Ghalca G8 tournament at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Wednesday to set up a final date with either Medeama or Dreams FC in the final slated for Sunday at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

Kotoko coach Steve Polack made only a change in his side that defeated Aduana last weekend with Wahab Adams replacing injured Emmanuel Owusu while Hearts, on the other hand, made four changes in their set-up that played the against Dwarfs in the last Group B game. Goalkeeper Ben Mensah replaced Theophilus Jackson while Alhassan Aminu, Cosmos Dauda and Reginald Thompson came in for Kotey, Alexander Kouasi Kouami and Patrick Razak respectively.

Kotoko exerted themselves on their visitors in the early exchanges, swinging passes together in midfield but the final delivery to their attackers was their only bane.

Hearts came into the game by the 20th minute but failed to find a breach in Kotoko’s defence. The best chance of the half felled to Dauda, after he was played through by a teammate on 32nd minute but the Hearts forward shot wide.

After the break, Hearts continued to pile pressure on Kotoko in their search for the opening goal. Felix Annan produced a superb save to deny Hearts the lead by the 48th minute. Captain Inusah Musah latched on to a rebound and sent in a powerful shot from 25 yards out but Annan tipped off the ball to corner kick.

Hearts brought on Razak for Thompson on 49th minute and the latter made his presence felt with his first touch of the ball. The former Utrecht winger went past two defenders and cut it back to Christopher Bonney but the defender blasted his effort up and wide with the goal at his mercy.

Kotoko responded with a double substitution on 70th minute, as Baba Mahama and Kwesi Nti came on for Emmanuel Gyamfi and Idriss Vie Sylla but they couldn’t unlock the bulwark defence of Hearts. Frederick Boateng and Kwame Boahene came close on several occasions but goalkeeper Ben Mensah saved the occasion.

Following the goalless draw in regulation time, Hearts carried the day through penalty shootouts. After Kotoko’s Jackson Owusu missed the first kick, goalkeeper Annan saved Richard Akrofi’s effort to bring the score even.

However, Kotoko captain Eric Donkor saw his low drive saved by Mensah and Malik Akowuah calmly sent his shot beyond the reach of Annan to win the day for the Phobians.

Hearts of Oak deny selling Winful Conbinah to Viborg FF

Hearts of Oak management member Alhaji Akambi says poste boy Winful ‘Skillful’ Cobinnah has not joined Viborg FF in a three-year deal as report in the media.

The 23-year-old, who is currently in Denmark and commenced training with the club on Tuesday, was initially reported to have been sold for £75,000 but Akambi insists that is not true, adding that he only joined then on a two-week trial.

“Winful Cobbinah hasn’t been sold to Viborg. He was rather invited for a trial so it is a not permanent deal,” Akambi told Happy FM.

“If the club wants him then we will talk about his price and future. There is no doubt that he is a good player and his absence will be felt as we are preparing for the new season. However, we wish him well,” he added.

Cobbinah joined Hearts mid-season of the previous campaign and helped them to finish fourth in the Ghana Premier League as well as second in the FA Cup.

He was also among the 18 players that participated and won the 2017 Wafu Cup of Nations for Ghana.

Musiga explains why no gospel track made it in Top 20 songs of 2017

The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has given an explanation as to why no gospel song made its list of Top 20 songs for 2017.

According to the Head of Business and Membership Unit at MUSIGA, Adu Poku, the list was originally compiled by Kisema, a logging system company in Ghana, and they [MUSIGA] only made it public after it was presented to them at a press soiree last Friday.

There were many controversies that Musiga stirred after the release of the list of 20 Most Played Songs on Radio in 2017. Many were those who criticised the list for the lack of a gospel track as even the ‘Bo No Ni’ track from the reigning music artiste of the year, Joe Mettle could not make the list.

In an interview on Hitz FM, Mr. Adu Poku defended Kisema’s research stating that gospel songs were not given much airplay on radio stations as compared to secular ones.

Mr. Adu Poku said, “On the average, the other stations are doing gospel like four hours, the rest of the twenty are dedicated to other forms. So statistically speaking, logically speaking, it does make sense that if we have a list of the most played twenty songs, the gospel would not be part of it.”

He then fished out that the statistics were solely from radio play and not performances in church or any other programmes which were not aired on radio.

In an explanation as to why Musiga partnered for the research, he said ” the findings would go a long way to “help the industry by providing data to our artistes to plan better.”

Aduana Stars technical team & players unhappy with unpaid salaries

The Fire Club’s players and technical team have been complaining in secret following their unpaid salaries and bonuses

Ghana Premier League champions Aduana Stars have failed to pay the salaries of their players and technical team in the months of November and December last year, AshesGyamera understands.

The Dormaa Ahenkro-based club’s preparations ahead of the preliminary round of the Caf Champions League against Libyan side Al Tahady next month was dealt a heavy blow, after they were eliminated from the Ghalca G8 pre-season tournament.

Although, Aduana won two games against Dreams FC and Techiman Eleven Wonders, the 2-0 defeat to Asante Kotoko in the final Group A fixture meant that they had to exit the competition due to head-to-head rule as they were tied with Kotoko and Dreams on six points.

“What’s going on now isn’t the best but everyone is afraid to open up on the issue,” a source told AshesGyamera.com.

“Even in Christmas where most families expect something from their children, daddies or uncles, the players were left frustrated because the salaries of that period and the month before that weren’t paid. No one dares open up on such situation that’s why everything seem well here.”

The source added: “When Aduana got eliminated from the Ghalca G8 tournament, some of the management members began to complain about some players’ performance and that gave them the opportunity to express their displeasure on issues concerning their unpaid salaries.”

AshesGyamera understands that even the cash prize of $4,450 (¢20,000) given to the players by the Dormaa Municipal Assembly following their triumph in the league last season has not been shared among the players. Also, the club’s owner and bankroller is yet to fulfill even half of the promises he made a couple of months ago to them.

David Moyes shows interest to sign Newcastle’s Atsu to West Ham

The Hammers boss has set sight on signing the Ghanaian to bolster his midfield in a bid to avoid relegation

West Ham United manager David Moyes has expressed his interest to sign Newcastle United winger Christian Atsu in the January transfer window, according to Newcastle Echo.

The 26-year-old has been one of the brightest spots in Rafael Benitez’s set-up this season, after making his loan spell from Chelsea permanent during last summer.

With West Ham seriously entangled in the relegation battle, Moyes has made Atsu one of the top players in his wishlist after the winger caught his eye following his splendid performance when the two clubs met earlier this season. Atsu scored one of Newcastle’s goals in that particular game but West Ham must double their efforts since Benitez revealed last week his unwillingness to sell any of his first team players.

West Ham already have Ghana’s deputy captain Andre Ayew in their team but the former Swansea City star has not hit the top form the club anticipated. He has scored only three goals after 18 games including nine starts.

AshesGyamera understands that Moyes will switch attention to Middlesbrough youngster Adama Traore as Atsu’s availability seems unlikely.

Breaking away from Dobble has affected my brand, admits Paa Kwesi

The musician has accepted that he is struggling to make it outside as a solo artist following the break of one of the most promising group

Dobble which previously made up of Nana Yaw (Ennwai) and Paa Kwasi burst onto the Ghana Music mainstream scene with their hit single ”Seke” which featured Dr Slim, then followed it up with ‘’Walai Talai’’ and have gone on to release songs like ‘Good Mood’, ‘Christie,’ ‘Spark Ma Motor’ and many more.

In 2016, Ghana woke up to the split of the group with its members embarking on solo projects but it looks like both artistes are trying to keep their heads above water as they’re finding it difficult to make hit songs as solo acts.

Speaking to Annie Afua Ampofo on the First Show on First News Network (FNN) on Friday, January 12, 2018, Paa Kwasi, the ‘Nipa Disani’ crooner stated that because of his fallout from the group, he’s finding it very difficult to get the attention of the public.

‘We’re working hard to get to where we’re supposed to be. It’s been two years and everyone know what happened.

“You know when a thing like that happens, nobody wants to listen to you so you need to keep pushing …It’s been full of ups and downs and very challenging but it’s been awesome as well. We’re looking forward to a bright future,’ he said
The sensational highlife singer continued; ‘people don’t want to listen, they feel I can’t do it as a solo artiste , they love the Paa Kwasi as a member of ‘Dobble’ and not as a solo musician but we understand life so that is what we need to go through.’

Commenting for the umpteenth time on why the group broke up, he stated that, ‘we just decided to go our separate ways. It’s like you building a company with someone and one day your partner says he’s taken a decision to withdraw and decides to work as an individual. When someone takes a decision, it means a lot of thought has gone into it.’

NPP unveils reviewed constitution for the commencement of internal elections

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has unveiled the party’s reviewed constitution at its headquarters in Accra on, Monday January 16, 2018.
Acting General Secretary of the party, John Boadu, who unveiled the reviewed constitution, said it paves the way for the commencement of internal elections in the party which starts from January 17, 2018.
The party, on 17 December 2017, held an Extraordinary Delegates’ Conference in Kumasi to consider all proposals and deliberate on the amendment of the constitution.
According to John Boadu, the amendment process was a huge success and admonished party members to consider the new constitution as they embark on their internal elections.
“The extraordinary national delegates’ conference as you would know came off on 17th December, 2017 in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital. Conference considered and debated over 80 motions as contained in the report of the adhoc committee. Some of the motions were successfully adopted whereas others were rejected by conference. A few others, deemed contentious, were withdrawn by the sponsors of the motion on legitimate grounds,” he said.
“After the conference, we put-up a committee to compile all the approved motions or amendment proposals into a single document. This exercise was done successfully and at the last National Council meeting held on January 8, 2018, their report was considered. So, it is gratifying to say that all is now set for the reviewed constitution to come into force. It is for this reason that today, we are witnessing the official inauguration of the constitution of the party, having incorporated all the approved amendments. Having said that, I now have the singular honour and privilege on behalf of the party, to declare the party’s reviewed constitution duly inaugurated on this 16th day of January, 2018,”he added.
The acting secretary appealed to all the sympathizers and members of the party, especially the would-be candidates for the various positions in the upcoming primaries and their supporters, to conduct this exercise with the necessary candour so that they would have incidence-free primaries for the love of the party.
“It has always been said that the NPP is the pacesetter and best example of democratic values for other political parties in the country and on the continent of Africa and we don’t intend to lose this enviable recognition. Let it therefore be said that the NPP came out of the 2018 primaries as a much stronger party,” he cautioned.

STATEMENT BY THE ACTING GENERAL SECRETARY OF THE NPP, JOHN BOADU AT A PRESS CONFERENCE TO OFFICIALLY OUTDOOR THE PARTY’S REVIEWED CONSTITUTION
Good afternoon Distinguish Members of our party and Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press
BACKGROUND/INTRODUCTION
We have invited you here primarily to officially outdoor the NPP’s REVIEWED CONSTITUTION having successfully gone through the rigorous processes of amendment in conformity with the relevant constitutional provisions. It would be recalled that in pursuance to the provisions of Article 18 of the party constitution, an opportunity was afforded members of the party in Ghana and abroad to submit proposals for constitutional amendments through the office of the general secretary for onward submission to national delegates’ conference for consideration. Upon receipt of these proposals, my outfit compiled same and made available to all stakeholders at least one clear month before the 26th August National Delegates’ Conference held at Cape Coast. Conference could however not adopt these amendment proposals due to time constraint among other compelling reasons.
Accordingly, conference passed a Resolution instructing National Council to set up an ad-hoc committee to streamline these amendment proposals together with other relevant considerations and present their report to conference at an extraordinary national delegates’ conference to be organized at a later date. Consequent to this, National Council at its 4th general meeting held on September 13, formed an 11-member adhoc committee under the chairmanship of F.F Antoh. Other members of the committee were Madam Joyce Opoku Boateng, Hon. O.B. Amoah, Hon. Joseph Dindiok Kpemka, Hon. Godfred Yeboah Dame, Hon. Hackman Owusu Agyeman, Mr. Agness Okudzeto, Hon. Ben Abdalla, Mr. Antwi, Mrs. Joyce Agyemang Attafour and Richard Asante Yeboah.
The committee was inaugurated on 14th September, 2017 and was given 2 months within which to submit their final report to the party as per the resolution of national conference. Upon receipt of the committee’s report, the national chairman, invoking Article 9 (A)(5) of the party constitution, called for an extraordinary national delegates’ conference for the sole purpose of adopting the committee’s report on the amendment proposals.
The extraordinary national delegates’ conference as you would know, came off on 17th December, 2017 in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital. Conference considered and debated over 80 motions as contained in the report of the adhoc committee. Some of the motions were successfully adopted whereas others were rejected by conference. A few others, deemed contentious, were withdrawn by the sponsors of the motion on legitimate grounds.
The hardworking delegates of our party exhibited significant sense of discernment and maturity in their considerations of the various amendment proposals with recourse to the party’s supreme interest at all times. Eventually, we had a very successful conference with far-reaching amendments that would further strengthen the party organization at all levels. Once again, let me use this opportunity to acknowledge the instrumental role played by His Excellency President Nana Akufo-Addo towards the success of the conference. The party is also thankful to His Excellency the Vice President, Ministers of State, MPs, MMDCEs and other government appointees, National/Regional/Constituency executives, our external branches and indeed all the delegates to the conference for the diverse role they played in the attainment of this historic feat for the party.
After the conference, we put-up a committee to compile all the approved motions or amendment proposals into a single document. Having said that, I now have the singular honour and privilege on behalf of the party, to declare the party’s reviewed constitution duly inaugurated on this 16th day of January, 2018.

INTERNAL PRIMARIES
With the coming into force of this reviewed constitution, all is set for the party to hold its internal primaries to elect executive officers to occupy the various positions in the party from the polling station to national level using the provisions in the revised constitution. As we have indicated previously, the polling station elections would be held across all the 29,000+ polling stations in the country from Wednesday, 17th January to Sunday, 21st January, 2018. This would be followed with the election of Electoral Area Coordinators from 26th to 29th January, 2018. Chapter Elections for all our External Branches have been scheduled for February 15 to 25, whereas the elections of all External Branch Executives would be held from the 18th to 30th of March, 2018.
As part of preparations towards holding the Polling Station and Electoral Area primaries, the party, on January 10, issued GUIDELINES that would govern the conduct of the Polling Station and Electoral Area elections. These Guidelines were discussed and approved by the party’s second highest decision making body, the National Council at its 1st general meeting for the year which was held on 8th January, 2018.
GUIDELINES (Rules and Regulations) GOVERNING POLLING STATION/ELECTORAL AREA ELECTIONS
The Guidelines, among other things, provide that there shall be a Polling Station Elections Committee (PSEC) and Electoral Area Elections Committee (EAEC) in each Constituency for the purpose of conducting and supersizing all the polling station and electoral area elections in the respective Constituencies. Membership PSEC/EAEC shall be composed of the following;

– One Representative appointed by the Constituency Executive Committee
– The Constituency Research/Elections officer
– Two Representatives from the Constituency Council of Elders and Patrons, one of whom shall be a woman

 He/she shall be nominated by one (1) person and seconded by three (3) registered members of the party, all of whom shall be of good standing at that particular polling station.
 The PSEC shall paste photographs of elected polling station officers on prescribed form and hand it over to the Constituency Secretary or Research/Elections officer for onward submission to National Secretariat through the Regional party for the compilation of the Constituency Album.
 A prospective candidate in the Electoral Area Elections, who shall be a known and active member of good standing, shall procure an Application Form at a cost of GHS 20.
 He/she shall be nominated by one (1) elected polling station officer and seconded by three (3) registered members who are known and active members of the party who reside in that particular polling station.
 The EAEC shall paste photograph of Electoral Area Coordinators on prescribed form and hand it over to the Constituency Secretariat through the Research and Election Officer for onward submission to National Secretariat through the Regional party for the compilation of the Constituency Album.
 The polling station register shall be used as the register for the conduct of the polling station elections.
 However, known and active members who reside and vote at a particular polling station but whose names, for some reasons, have not been captured in the Polling Station Register are eligible to vote provided that two (2) members can vouch for their membership.
 Also, voters in both the polling station and electoral area elections shall use their party membership Identity (ID) card but where same is unavailable, National Voters ID card shall be admitted for the purpose of voting.
We wish to state categorically that no prospective aspirant shall be denied access to the purchase of Application Form upon request. No individual shall be permitted to purchase more than one Application Form and so, for the people wishing to pay the cost of the Forms for a number of prospective aspirants, the payment must be made to the PSEC/EAEC within the stipulated time before the Forms can be made available to them.
CONSTITUENCY/REGIONAL/NATIONAL PRIMARIES
Constituency and regional primaries shall be held from 21st to 24th February, 2018 and from 21st to 24th April, 2018 respectively. These internal primaries would then be climaxed with the election of National Executive Officers at the 2018 National Delegates’ Conference of the party to be held from June 15 to 17, 2018.
CONCLUSION
The NPP holds the view that this reviewed constitution we are inaugurating today, would add the needed impetuous to the party’s organizational strength at all levels. It has been well streamlined and made more effective to directly reflect the exigencies of this moment. In effect, if we are all going to strictly adhere to the provisions of this reviewed constitution, which I’m confident, we would; then I dare say that the NPP shall face no more internal crisis Insha Allah and that, we would continue to remain in government and delivering prosperity to the good people of this country.
Finally, I also wish to use this opportunity to once again, make a passionate appeal to all the sympathizers and members of the party especially the would-be candidates for the various positions in the upcoming primaries and their supporters to conduct this exercise with the necessary candour so that we would have incidence-free primaries for the love of the party. It has always been said that the NPP is the pacesetter and best example of democratic values for other political parties in the country and on the continent of Africa and we don’t intend to lose this enviable recognition. Let it therefore be said that the NPP came out of the 2018 primaries as a much stronger party.
