The Ghanaian striker was in action when Watford eliminated the Eagles from the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening

Ghana striker Jordan Ayew was in action for Crystal Palace when they got eliminated from the Carabao Cup after losing 1-0 to Watford on Tuesday evening.

Ayew was handed a starting place in the squad after being dropped to the substitute bench over the weekend when they drew goalless with Brentford in the Premier League.

Although, Ayew was operating from the flanks and Mateta leading the Palace attack, the duo were too slow and sluggish in front of goal.

They failed to turn several half chances into goals as Watford grew in confidence into the latter part of the game.

With four minutes remaining and the game looking likely to head to extra time, Ashley Fletcher sealed the win surprisingly for Watford by stretching to turn home a Cucho Hernandez cross.

Palace pushed men forward in the remaining minutes but it was too little too late for them to find the equaliser.

Ghana midfielder Jeffrey Schlupp was also in action for Crystal Palace but could do little to prevent his side from the defeat.

Watford’s win means that Crystal Palace have been eliminated from the Carabao Cup in the round two for three consecutive seasons as two came under former manager Roy Hodgson.

Abesim Murder: Deceased’s father gives blow-by-blow account of how human bodies were found

Father of one of the deceased in the Abesim murder case Thomas Adjei has given a chilling account of how his stepson allegedly killed his own son at Abesim in the Bono Region.

Thomas Adjei, father to Louis Agyemang Junior, one of the victims of the gruesome incident, while recounting the horrible scene during the manhunt for his son explained that “after we had mounted a search for my son whom at that time we thought was lost for more than 6 hours, we decided to search the suspect’s room for the second time. Then we saw a locked room which he had earlier refused to open under the pretence that the occupant had travelled and he didn’t have access to that room. My wife fell unconscious when we opened the door and saw my 12-year-old-boy’s lifeless body on the floor in his own stepbrother’s room”.

The deceased was found dead in the suspect’s room Friday evening. He is believed to have been murdered by his senior stepbrother, Richard Gyamfi.

The 31-year-old Richard Gyamfi together with an accomplice [name withheld] has been in police grips after dead bodies and human body parts were allegedly found in his room at his residence at Abesim in the Bono Region last Friday evening.

Police allege the suspect murdered his own 12-year-old stepbrother together with another young boy who is said to have lived in the same community but reported missing some days ago.

Father of the deceased who doubles as stepfather to the suspect while recounting the incident to Akoma FM‘s Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin n Monday noted that “I still can’t believe this is happening to me. I think it’s a dream because I don’t understand. I hope I will just wake up from this dream,” he lamented in a sorrowful tone.

Twin brother of the deceased Louis Agyemang Senior has not been himself since he found out his other half has died.

“As part of the search team who mounted the manhunt, he was there when the police finally were able to open the door to that confined room where he had kept my son and other parts of human parts which were stored in a refrigerator,” the deceased’s father narrated.

He further added the situation has thrown his family into a serious state of sorrow and intense wailing.

“My wife after she revived from unconsciousness has not been the same anymore, she’s been crying and restless. My son, the elder twin to the deceased is yet to come to terms with his twin brother’s death.”
