The Miners have relieved their coach off his duties following a slow start to the Premier League
Ghana Premier League side Ashanti Gold have terminated the contract of coach Ernest Thompson Quartey after only three games, AshesGyamera.com understands.
The Obuasi-based club began the season with a win over Techiman Eleven Wonders on opening day before they shared the spoils 1-1 with Karela at home.
However, they suffered a painful 2-0 defeat to King Faisal last weekend and that has led to the sacking of Quartey.
On Monday, the club’s technical director Ricardo Da Rocha was in charge of the team’s recovery training session after Quartey was told to step aside.
Ashanti Gold will host Hearts of Oak who are also yet to record a win this season on Sunday at the Len Clay Sports Stadium.
Any results apart from win for the Phobians could further invite pressure on Samuel Boadu who has gone four games without a win in all competitions.
The striker will spend the next two weeks in police custody after he was denied bail following his appearance in court
Former Hearts of Oak striker Gilbert Fiamenyo has been remanded in police custody for the next fourteen days by an Accra Circuit court, AshesGyamera.com can confirm.
The 30-year-old was reported to have attacked a police officer who was on duty after watching Ghana Premier League game between Hearts of Oak and Aduana Stars on Sunday.
Fiamenyo was later arrested by the police after the news about his attack went viral at the stadium.
At the Adjabeng District Court on Monday morning, Fiamenyo was charged with assault on security officer and although he defended himself, the judge insisted that he should be remanded and reappear in court two weeks time.
Fiamenyo, who previously had stints with Kenyan giants AFC Leopards, is currently a free agent after he parted ways with Lebanese side Al Nasr.
I am all against some uncouth persons using social media as medium in Going after people who never offend them. I am not a saint, admittedly I have attacked the opinion of some persons I do not even know on this medium that if given another chance, I wouldn’t have reacted to their opinions the way I did.
It goes a long way to confirm that in the heat of things, people are likely to say things which may be quite distasteful. On a universally accessible platform like Facebook, Twitter among other social media platforms, not everyone will have same temperament hence tolerance is one keyword which should guide all persons on these mediums.
This case of Nana Aba Anamoah and her brigade using a professional position to settle a seemingly personal vendetta against a young man is the lowest any reality show panel can go. If Ghana was America, trust me sponsors of the show will pull out and other contestants will boycott it ultimately.
I cannot say much about Serwaa Amihere but Nana Aba Anamoah and Bridget Otoo are accomplices of the very thing they were displeased about the young man appearing before them doing. If you follow them closely on Twitter, they go after people who disagree with their position on pressing issues over the least thing. Either make a joke about their looks or General appearance or their grammar.
There are a dozen of instance Nana Aba Anamoah has tried ridiculing social media political activists who disagree with her on some political issues. She takes no prisoners in stating how people are party FOOT-SOLDIERS all are clandestine approach to demean them among others. To them, foot soldiers have no brain and if you dare disagree with one, they will ambush you and vilify you together with some of their none thinking followers.
Bridget Otoo does same, including Lydia Forson whom Nana Aba was fighting for on the panel. These aforementioned three, if you disagree with them, you are always seen by them as uninformed, ignorant, jealous, low lifer among others.
The last time Nana Aba Anamoah tried that silly tactics on NDC social media activists on Facebook, it “Over Am” with the barrage of counter clap backs she received from some NDC activists. I was particularly pleased that a number of sense was pumped into her on that occasion. She ultimately restricted the comment section on that particular post, restricted comments on her general posts on Facebook for sometime and eventually deleted the post about NDC Foot-Soldiers which led to she being brutally taken to the cleaners.
If they(Nana Aba and Bridget Otoo) can wait for that long to payback their offender as they have done in their trending video, it shows how petty, uncouth and vindictive they are themselves. Their conduct is not different from a presiding judge who refused looking at the substance of a case before him but sentenced the accused person based on a confrontation between him and the accused outside the courtroom.
Is Nana Aba and friends saying that if they were medical doctors, they will watch on for a patients they had a confrontation with on social media to die because they felt disrespected by his or her opinion? Has Nana Aba herself not insulted and disrespected many people on her Twitter handle countless times? Why then turn what should be a professional platform into settling a personal score ?
Young people go through many faces before carving the perfect niche for themselves behaviorally. I trust that, in her current stage and position, Nana Aba Anamoah wouldn’t have even contemplated doing an embarrassing photoshop of visiting Old Trafford which led to her infamous Sack from Tv3 but life is a learning process.
They missed the opportunity of reforming the young man to be a decent human being without even letting the world know about it.
Collectively, leading social media platforms will have to do a lot more on their community standard to keep trolls and abusers in check. That does not mean free speech should be restricted, if you are foolish you deserved to be called foolish with no apology.
The boy too what “ sort of this thing is that”😂 These bitter misandrists are people you have reportedly consistently disrespected, all in the name of savage replies and comments. What was he thinking in going there to be vetted ?
Lessons all over to be learnt regardless but not obviously from Nana Aba and her sugar babies who are accomplices of cyber bullying and trolls.
The Ghanaian side became the first club to reach the final of the maiden competition on Monday
Ghana’s Hasaacas Ladies pipped Moroccan giants ASFAR 2-1 in the semifinals of the Women’s Caf Champions League to on Monday.
After securing a semifinals place with a game to spare last week, Hasaacas were made to work extra harder than their previous games.
Doris Boaduwaa shot Hasaacas Ladies ahead by the 34th minute with a good finish but ASFAR pulled even on the stroke of halftime.
After the break, Hasaacas had an opportunity to restore their lead after Veronica Appiah was played through but her last ditch effort missed the target.
The Ghanaian champions were handed a penalty by the 63rd minute but Perpetual Agyekum uncharacteristically saw her effort saved.
However, Evelyn Badu proved her importance once more in the competition. The well-built striker latched onto the ball to score the match winner.
The goal marked Badu’s fifth goal of the competition as she is now in a pole position to win the goal boot.
Hasaacas will face Mamelodi Sundown’s Women’s FC in the final after the South Club defeated Malabo Kings on penalties in the second semifinals.

Bechem United midfielder Clinton Duodo sat for Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) on Monday with Bechem Presbyterian Junior High School.
The 16-year-old, who started Bechem against Kotoko and also in the 2-0 win against Elmina Sharks on Sunday, is one of the future prospects in Ghana Premier League.
Duodo is on the radar of former Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard’s academy.
Bechem United midfielder Clinton Duodo began his BECE examination today.
The 16-year-old, who tormented Asante Kotoko defenders a fortnight ago in Kumasi, is one of the most exciting youngsters in Ghana Premier League.
He is part of the 571,894 students who sat for the examination this year as he hopes to be part of the Free SHS in the next academic year.
Bechem legend Augustine Okrah joined the players who wished Duodu all the best ahead of the exams.
All the best to Bechem United midfielder and teammate Clinton Duodo who started his BECE examination today.

The former midfielder believes the duo will be a good addition to the Black Stars setup
Former Ghana midfielder Augustine Arhinful has insisted that Southampton defender Mohammed Salifu and Brighton and Hove Albion full-back Tariq Lamptey must be persuaded to play for the Black Stars.
According to the former international, the duo will be good addition as the Black Stars aim at winning 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and qualify to the 2022 Fifa World Cup to be staged in Qatar
“We need to approach Mohammed Salisu to come and play for us, we need him to come. Let’s contact Samuel Kuffuor, Tony Baffour to do this job for us”, Arhinful told Happy FM.
“We need Tariq Lamptey of Brighton. He is also an option for us at the right-back. I would have told him that if he is looking to play for England there isn’t a chance at national level so he should consider Ghana, which will help him in his CV. If it is the father you must get through to him then let’s do it”.
During CK Akonnor’s time he didn’t honor the call up, Coach Milovan Rajevac’s time too he hasn’t turn
“We are looking for results and we get these players and they perform the coach will be happy and Ghanaians will also be happy”, he added.
Mohammed Salisu has received two invites to the Black Stars during CK Akonnor’s tenure as head coach but rejected those call ups stating he wasn’t ready for the national team.
Ghana defeated South Africa 1-0 to tip Group G of the Fifa World Cup qualifiers and will now play in the playoffs for one of the five slots allocated for Africa.
Ghana defeated South Africa 1-0 in the last game of Group G of 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Sunday.
With the Black Stars needing a win of any form to finish as Group G winners, coach Milovan made two changes in his squad that shared the spoils with Ethiopia last week.
Israel-based striker Richmond Boakye Yiadom who was surprisingly called for the game and Celta Vigo defender Joseph Aidoo were dropped to the bench following their poor output.
As a result, Strasbourg defender Alexander Djiku who missed the game against Ethiopia due to accumulated cards has returned took over his place while Mubarak Wakaso was also handed a starting berth.
Andre Ayew partnered his junior brother Jordan Ayew and Kudus Mohammed in a 4-3-3 formation.
However, after eight minutes, Ghana were forced to make a change after Kudus picked up an injury. St.Pauli midfielder Daniel Kofi Kyereh took over his duties and perfectly brought stability in midfield.
After wasting some half chances, Ghana were presented with a golden opportunity to take the lead when Daniel Amartey was heckled in the box by a South Africa defender.
Andre Ayew stepped forward and perfectly slotted in the ball for the opening goal.
The midfielder scored the all-important goal that secured the Black Stars a place in the World Cup qualifiers playoffs
Ghana and Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey has heaped praise on national team captain Andre Ayew following the Black Stars 1-0 victory over South Africa in 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Sunday.
A first half penalty won by Amartey was excellently scored by Ayew who was making his 100th appearances for Ghana on international stage.
The 31-year-old made his international debut for the Black Stars in 2008 and has since risen through the ranks to become the captain.
“A special player, and an even better human being @AyewAndre.
Congrats on your 100th Cap for 🇬🇭 👏🏽👏🏽 ,” Amartey posted on Twitter after the victory over South Africa.
A special player, and an even better human being @AyewAndre
Ayew, who currently plies his trade with Qatari giants Al Sadd, has scored 22 international goals for Ghana and played in seven Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and two Fifa World Cups.
Ghana defeated South Africa 1-0 in the last game of Group G of 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Sunday thanks to Andre Ayew’s goal from the spot.
The results mean that Black Stars have booked their place in the playoffs and could either face Senegal, Nigeria, Mali, Algeria or Morocco.
However, AshesGyamera.com’s editor-in-chief, Evans Gyamera-Antwi, brings to you how each player fared in the game.
Joseph Wollacott- 8/10
The most underrated goalkeeper for Ghana in recent years pulled up several point-blank saves to help Black Stars secure a famous win. Although, he initially struggled to command his backline, it is quite understandable since this game was his biggest test since donning the national colours.
A clean sheet is another quiver to his arrow. He is one for the future barring any unforeseen circumstances.
Andy Yiadom- 6.5/10
The Reading full-back is yet to have an overly superb game for Ghana. Despite his experience in Europe, he is one of the players that Ghanaians don’t trust. Against South Africa, he barely sent in tailor-measured crosses but he defended well at times. He was quite good.
Abdul Baba Rahman- 7/10
Unlike his teammate Yiadom, Baba Rahman is gradually getting his mojo back. The Chelsea loanee showed glimpses of the player Ghanaians saw in 2015 when he marked his bow for the Black Stars. His last ditch clearance late in the game was very crucial to help Ghana secure a place in the playoffs.
Daniel Amartey- 8/10
The Leicester City defender was mentally stable and showed improvement against South Africa if you juxtapose today’s game to his performance against Ethiopia. He usually read the ball well and could sense danger was looming. He is a better half to Alexander Djiku than to Joseph Aidoo. His intelligent play caught the attention of the referee and won Ghana the penalty which Ayew slotted the resulting kick in.
Alexander Djiku- 8.5/10
Obviously, the Strasbourg centre defender is one of the Black Stars’ brightest spot. He was well composed at the back and showed Aidoo why he was dropped today. He combined with Amartey to keep the South Africans at bay in most cases.
Baba Iddrisu- 7/10
The youngster is gradually becoming a cult hero. Very calm and intelligent, the Real Mallorca lad hardly displaces a pass. His tackles are also on point and combined nicely with Mubarak Wakaso.
Mubarak Wakaso- 9/10✓
A villain turned hero tonight. Wakaso has recently come under scrutiny for his bizarre performance but if anything is to go by, he was by far Ghana’s best performer against South Africa. He was ever present in midfield.
He made some crucial tackles and looked matured in his play. An engine he was in midfield.
Mohammed Kudus- Not rated
The Ajax Amsterdam youngster was one of the players Milovan Rajevac was looking up to to conjure magic but unfortunately, he was subbed after only fourteen minutes. The injury robbed him off what could have been a perfect platform to show the world what he had under his belt.
Daniel Kofi Kyereh- 6.5/10
After replacing injured Kudus, the St Pauli midfielder played creditably well. He was even close to scoring but unfortunately fluffed the opportunity he was served with. Kyereh is one of the players who could improve when given time.
Jordan Ayew- 7/10
Jordan Ayew failed to once again score despite coming close. Ayew has now gone almost 50 games for club and country and yet to break his duck. His hold up play wasn’t bad but he was a little selfish and must improve in that aspect as Ghana now prepare to play in the playoffs.
Andre Ayew- 9/10
El Capitano! Ayew proved once again that he is a big game player. Although, he lacks pace and strength due to his age, the Al Sadd forward now uses his experience more to his advantage.
Andre Ayew receiving his award after making 100 appearances
To mark his 100th appearance for Ghana with a crucial goal proves that Ayew is one of the most sought after players who will always help Ghana grind results when the need be.
Kamaldeen Sulemana- 7.5/10
Although, Sulemana has struggled in most of the games he has played for Ghana, the one against South Africa was quite good. He was barely seen in the first half but after break, the Stade Rennes star was a different player.
He was even unlucky not to have scored a goal after his long drive narrowly missed the target in the second half.
Richmond Boakye Yiadom- Not rated
The Israeli-based striker was a pure disaster against Ethiopia last week and that led to his dropping today. Although, he came on for Sulemana to play the last six minutes, too little was seen from him.
Even after being handed a chance at goal, he was a little sluggish as Bafana Bafana shot-stopper Ronwen Williams read the danger and saved his side from conceding another goal. This could be his last game for Ghana.
The midfielder marked his 100th game for the Black Stars with a wonderful performance as he capped it with a priceless goal

Andre Ayew honoured for playing 100 games for Ghana
After the break, South Africa proved to be solid opponents as they improved and began to cause too many troubles for Ghana’s defence.
On the 76th minute, Kamaldeen Sulemana came close to double the Black Stars lead after he went past South Africa goalkeeper and another defender. However, his last ditch effort narrowly missed the target.
Ghana tops the group with 13 points, same points with South Africa but with superior goals scored.
The Black Stars will face one of the top five countries seeded by Confederation of African Football including Senegal, Morocco, Nigeria and Algeria.
