Ghana midfielder Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has signed a five-year deal with Leicester City which will keep him at the King Power Stadium until the summer of 2029.
The 21-year-old initially joined the Foxes on a season-long loan deal from Sporting but the club has opted to make his move permanent after becoming a cult hero.
Fatawu was instrumental in Leicester’s qualification back to the Premier League last season following series of inspiring performances in the Championship. He scored six goals and made 13 assists as Leicester won the Championship and secured an automatic promotion.
He joins Thomas Teye Partey, Kudus Mohammed, Jordan Ayew, Jeffrey Schlupp and Kamaldeen Sulemana as the Ghanaians to play in the 2024/25 Premier League season.
