The Porcupine Warriors have announced the arrival of two new backroom staff who will assist the new head coach for the next two seasons

Asante Kotoko have confirmed the signing of David Ocloo and John Eduafo as the new assistant coaches for the club until 2023.

The duo, who will assist new head coach Prosper Ogum Narteh, have arrived at the club at a time where Johnson Smith has been allowed to leave following the expiration of his contract.

Also, Abdulai Gazelle has been resigned to the junior team as Kotoko want to revamp their youth system in order to produce quality players in the future.

Gazelle is currently on his way to United Kingdom for a refresher course at Kotoko’s partners Southampton until the end of October.

Meanwhile, with the new Ghana Football Association’s requirement that even assistant coaches of Premier League clubs must hold Caf License A certificate, Smith will have to upgrade himself in the coming months or go off the radar since he only boasts of license B certificate.

“We are glad to announce that Coach David Ocloo and Coach John Eduafo have joined our newly appointed Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum as Assistant Coaches.Welcome, gentlemen,” a club statement read.

Kotoko began their pre-season training on Monday at the Adako Jachie training ground and they are expected to play series of friendly games in the coming days.

The 2021/22 Ghana Premier League campaign will kick of on October 29.

Ogum has become the seventh head coach appointed by Asante Kotoko since 2019 after C.K Akonnor, Kjetil Zachariason, Maxwell Konadu, Johnson Smith, Abdulai Gazelle and Mariano Baretto.
