The Phobians recovered from their home defeat last weekend to stun Medeama in Tarkwa
Hearts of Oak defeated Medeama 2-0 in matchday nine of Ghana Premier League at the T&A Park in Tarkwa on Friday night.
The Phobians came into the game on the back of a home defeat to Gold Stars last weekend and pressure were pilling on head coach Abubakar Ouatarra.
After an end to end first against Medeama, Hearts took the lead on 64th minute through Kwabena Boateng. Hamzah Issah latched on to a long pass from goalkeeper Benjamin Asare and he beat two defenders before sending it on target and Boateng then tapped it into an empty net.
Medeama pushed men upfront in search of the equaliser and Mawuli Wayo capitalised on a defensive blunder to score to score the match winner for the Phobians.
Hearts have now moved up to 12th position with nine points after eight games. They will host Vision FC in their next game at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra.
