There is pressure mounting on the Phobians manager after the dreadful 4-0 loss in Algeria, however, a large section of the club’s top hierarchy have reaffirmed their faith in him
Although, reports in the local media have suggested that some of the Hearts of Oak players are gradually losing faith in the coaching staff, especially head coach Samuel Boadu, as a result of their poor run of results, the club’s top hierarchy has reaffirmed their trust in him, AshesGyamera.com can confirm.
The Phobians were at the receiving end of a 4-0 hammering from Algerian side JS Saoura on Sunday in the second leg of the Caf Confederation Cup playoffs. The results means that Hearts are now out of Caf inter-club competitions this season having already been eliminated from the Champions League by Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco where they also concede six goals.
Moreover, they have gone four games in Ghana Premier League without a win and currently sit at the bottom of the league log and the elimination from Confederation Cup has piled even more pressure on Boadu as a section of the supporters even think he is not good enough.
However, AshesGyamera.com understands that Hearts majority shareholder Togbe Afede has assured Boadu that he remains well liked by the club’s top hierarchy and should focus on the remaining games in the Premier League.
What is the current situation?
Togbe Afede reportedly spoke to Boadu and the technical team and although he was not elated with how things went in Algeria, he remained staunch in their defence amid the poor run of results.
Hearts will leave Algeria on Monday morning and make a transit in Turkey. They are expected to leave Turkey on Wednesday morning and arrive in Cote D’Ivoire where they will make their last of the many transits.
What happens next?
Hearts will shift their attention to Ghana Premier League and they are expected to face Berekum Chelsea on Wednesday December 15 at the Accra Sports Stadium before they head to battle Elmina Sharks at the Nduom Sports Stadium on Sunday December 18.
Ghana Football Association is expected to communicate the dates for their games against Medeama and Asante Kotoko which were postponed due to their participation in the Cat Confederation Cup.
With Hearts now trailing rivals Asante Kotoko nine points in the league, Boadu, obviously will be looking for a reaction from his players and should they fail to find their mojo back, the club may be forced to sack him and appoint a new manager.
