The midfielder caught up with the top hierarchy of the Wonder Club to discuss his future ahead of next season
Great Olympics captain Gladson Awako met the club’s board of directors with his agent to discuss his future after a wonderful season.
The 30-year-old has been hugely linked with a move to champions Hearts of Oak and was even reported to have signed a two-year deal.
However, he met Olympics board of directors on Friday evening and was made aware the club’s plans of keeping him for next season.
The board of directors, which included GHALCA chairman Kudjo Fianoo, kicked against his move to Hearts of Oak and assured him of an improved salaries and winning bonuses should he put pen to paper to remain at the club.
Awako is one of the players which Hearts coach Samuel Boadu is believed to have targeted to sign as his side prepares for their participation in 2021/22 Caf Champions League which kicks off in September.
Awako, who is a product of Ashanti Gold academy, has previously had stints with Berekum Chelsea and T.P Mazembe and he is currently a member of Ghana’s senior national team. He is expected to represent the country at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations which will be staged in Cameroon next year.
