Ghana to face Kwesi Appiah’s Sudan and others in 2025 AFCON qualifiers

The Black Stars have been presented with their opponents ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers

African teams on Thursday have learned their opponents en route to qualifying for the biennial football showpiece billed for Morocco in 2025.

Ghana will slug it out with Sudan led by former player and captain Kwesi Appiah, Angola and Niger in Group F following the draw held in Cairo.

The Black Stars, after a disappointing performance in the last edition staged in Côte d’Ivoire, are hoping to get another opportunity to end the country’s run without a trophy in over three decades.

The draw held on Thursday in Egypt was steered by Caf head of competition Khaled Nassar and was assisted by Algeria football other football greats.

It will be a homecoming to Kwesi Appiah who sacked in 2019 after failing to lead Ghana to win the AFCON in Egypt.

Two countries will qualify from each group after the qualifiers.
