Ten-man Asante Kotoko recovered from their recent poor run of results to defeat Medeama 2-0 on matchday 31 of Ghana Premier League at the T&A Park in Tarkwa on Sunday.

Ahead of the game, Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum made four changes in his starting line up that lost to Berekum Chelsea at home last weekend.

Captain Abdul Ganiu Ismail who returned from a long injury lay off to feature in that game was dropped and his place was occupied by Maxwell Agyemang who partnered Andrew Appau in the center of defence.

Also, Cameroonian striker Georges Mfegue Rodrigues was benched for Samuel Boateng while Richmond Lamptey was picked ahead of Stephen Amankona.

Again, Evans Adomako is expected to take the place of Evans Adomako is expected to start in the Fabio Gama.

Medeama came close to getting the lead by the fifth minute after Patrick Ansu connected a pass from Kwasi Donsu but his shot was blocked.

Donsu appealed for a penalty by the 20th minute after he was brought down in the Kotoko box but the referee ignored his calls.

Four minutes later, Kotoko broke the deadlock through defender Appau. The youngster beat his marker and headed in corner kick from Imoro Ibrahim.

Etouga doubled Kotoko’s lead on 45th minute after he was set up by Samuel Boateng.

On the stroke of half time, Mudasiru Salifu was sent off for a second bookable offense following a rush tackle.

After the break, Kotoko held on despite the numerical disadvantage to pick a priceless victory.
