The Black Stars forward began the Serie A season on the high with a sublime finish in Spezia’s stalemate away
Ghana striker Emmanuel Gyasi announced his presence in the new Serie A season with a goal as Spezia Calcio shared the spoils 2-2 against Cagliari on Monday evening.
Gyasi sent Spezia in front very early in the game after a quick break. The Ghanaian connected a pass from Daniell Verde and sent his side ahead by the seventh minute with a cool finish.
After the break, Spezia doubled their lead through Simone Bastoni few minutes after Gyasi saw his initial effort saved.
Bastoni went past his marker and calmly slotted his effort beyond the reach of Cagliari goalkeeper by the 58th minute.
However, Cagliari staged an interesting comeback with 28 minutes remaining after some schoolboy defending by Spezia.
Jao Pedro pulled one back for Cagliari by the 62nd minute before he completed the comeback four minutes later from the spot after his teammate was clutched in the box by a Spezia defender.
Gyasi, who is now one of the key players for Ghana coach C.K Akonnor, is expected to keep his form before the international break as Ghana face Ethiopia and South Africa in the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
