The left back was pronounced dead on Tuesday in Sunyani following a short illness
Former Asante Kotoko defender Godfred ‘Tv3’ yeboah has been confirmed dead by family members according to sources close to the footballer, AshesGyamera.com understands.
The 41-year-old was believed to have been ill for sometime now and was taken to the hospital but passed away on Tuesday morning.
Yeboah started his professional football career B.A United and became a cult hero among the club’s top hierarchy and supporters before joining Asante Kotoko in 2003.
In Kumasi, his surging runs on the left wing as well as accurate crosses gave him the name TV3 since it was always without a mistake. He was with Kotoko until 2008 where he parted ways with the club.
Yeboah died at the Sunyani Government Hospital and the family is now officially notified the leaderships of Asante Kotoko and Ghana FA since he was a former international.
Yeboah made his Black Stars debut in 2003 against Benin in an international friendly. He went on to make four appearances in total before hanging his boots.
Until his unfortunate demise, Yeboah who also played for Wa All Stars now Legon Cities FC, was residing at Fiapre near Sunyani where he built a house and was staying with his family.
