The defender has added his voice to the growing concerns about the pandemic which is currently sweeping across all countries
Amiens defender Nicholas Opoku has advised Ghanaians to stick simple procedures given out by health practitioners to stay safe from Coronavirus.
After Ghana president Nana Akufo-Addo closed down all schools and advised against social gatherings including churches and mosques, the number seems to increase as 24 cases have been reported including one death.
On Monday, March 23 2020, about 1,300 personnel were deployed to spray the capital city of Accra including over 136 market centres and Opoku believes sticking to basic guidelines will help curb the spread of COVID-19.
“As we already know, we’re in a difficult time right now. This coronavirus is causing a lot of damages in a lot of things in the whole world,” Opoku said in a video he posted on Social Media.
“I’m pleading with each and everyone to stay safe. These [are some of the things we need to follow]: Washing your hands with soap and using sanitisers, avoid shaking hands and body contacts. Stay safe and stay healthy,” he added.
Opoku who previously had stint with Ghana Premier League side Berekum Chelsea is currently on loan at Amiens from Serie A side Udinese Calcio.
