The Yellow and Mauves could not contain their North African opponents despite holding them for over an hour
Ghana champions Medeama lost 3-0 to Al Ahly in the Group D opening game of the Caf Champions League in Cairo, Egypt on Saturday.
The Yellow and Mauve were resolute in the first half of the game as they held the Ahly from creating chances and scoring goals.
However, after the break Ahly finally found a breach in Medeama’s defence and opened the scoring. Mahmoud Kahraba pounced on a defensive lapse and sent his effort beyond the reach of goalkeeper Felix Kyei by the 66th minute.
Shahat added another after a defensive blunder on 75th minute before Salah Moshen sealed the victory with a header by the 88th minute.
Medeama will now turn attention to their next game at home against CR Belouzdad at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday.
