The midfielder will be playing in Asia after sealing a one-year deal with a Chinese club this weekend

Former Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has signed a one-year contract with Chinese club Qingdao FC, as reported by Football Transfers.

The 30-year-old was without a club since leaving Hellas Verona after his loan deal expired.

Badu joined Verona in a season-long deal from Udinese but the club did not extend his stay after his contract expired.

The former Asante Kotoko midfielder has become the fourth Ghanaian to play in China after Frank Acheampong, Wakaso Mubarak and Emmanuel Boateng.

Badu, who was part of Ghana’s squad that won 2009 Fifa U20 World Cup, has 76 senior caps and 11 goals.

Last year, he officially hanged his boots from international football to concentrate on club football due to a troublesome knee injury.
