The Royals have had their tails in front as they are on verge of signing the highly rated striker ahead of city rivals
Ghana Premier League big spenders Legon Cities FC are in the pole position to sign Nigerien striker Victorien Adebayor ahead of the second round of the season, AshesGyamera.com can confirm.
Adebayor, 24, arrived in the country in the early hours of Friday and was met at the Kotoka international airport by officials of Legon Cities as the club seeks to find ways to avoid relegation following a slow start to the season.
With keen interest also from giants and city rivals Hearts of Oak, security was tight at the airpot upon the striker’s arrival as Legon Cities are hoping to have him put pen to paper without any late drama.
Adebayor, who initially played in Ghana between 2018 and 2020 with Inter Allies, is joining Legon Cities from Danish first Division club HB Køge on loan.
Legon are currently sitting 15th on log with 19 points, two points above safety.
