It was a joyful mood for both players and supporters as the Porcupine Warriors pipped Medeama on the first Akwasidae festival of the year
Asante Kotoko players joined their supporters to celebrate the 1-0 victory over Medeama in Ghana Premier League matchday 14 fixture at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
A late goal from Cameroonian striker Georges Mfegue Rodrigues was all what Kotoko needed to narrowly defeat Medeama as they stretched the lead at the top in the process.
Although, Medeama goalkeeper Mandjui Junior was a thorn in the flesh of Kotoko, saving a dozen of chances, Kotoko managed to grind the results and it was a joyful moment.
The players ran on the tracks to celebrate with the supporters after the game while other supporters shared their joy.
They believe Kotoko will not lose grips of their lead to any club like they threw away a seven-point advantage last season for Hearts of Oak to win the trophy ahead of them in the process.
