The Phobians could allow their star man to leave for European adventures following an offer from Belgium

Hearts of Oak have received a transfer offer from Belgian side Royal Antwerp for midfielder Salifu Ibrahim, according to reports in the local media.

Salifu, who joined Hearts mid season from Techiman Eleven Wonders, was very instrumental in the club’s success story. He contributed immensely for the Phobians to win their first Premier League trophy in eleven years.

As a result, Antwerp have reportedly made an approach to sign him and have subsequently tabled an offer of US$600,000 for his services as they seek to bolster their midfield in order to win the Belgium Jupiler Pro League this season.

The Phobians are believed to be in a dire need of money to finance the club since the board of directors believe it should be self sustaining.

However, reports have suggested that Hearts owner Togbe Afede has kicked against the decision to sell Salifu as he believes they could make more money from his sale if he stays and play a part in the club’s participation of the Caf Champions League.

Hearts have been paired with CI Kamsar from Guinea in the preliminary round. The first leg will be played on September 10 in Conakry before the Phobians hosts them a week later at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The winner after the tie will meet WAC of Morocco for a place in the group stage.
