Hohoe United charged by GFA Over alleged misconduct in Vision FC clash

Hohoe United FC have been charged by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for multiple alleged breaches of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019 and the Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocols, 2025 following their Ghana Premier League match against Vision FC.

In a statement issued as part of disciplinary proceedings, the GFA alleges that Hohoe United failed to ensure the safety and protection of match officials during the fixture. The Association further claims that a club official and some supporters of Hohoe United behaved in an inappropriate manner towards the referees and other match officials in the course of the match.

The charges fall under the GFA’s strengthened matchday security and conduct regulations introduced to curb incidents involving intimidation, harassment and threats towards officials.

Club Given Deadline to Respond

Hohoe United have been given up to Friday, 30 January 2026 to officially respond to the charges.

If found guilty, the club could face sanctions ranging from fines, stadium restrictions, matchday bans, or other disciplinary measures in line with the Association’s code and protocols.

The development comes at a crucial time in the season, as clubs push for points in the second half of the Ghana Premier League campaign.

Hohoe United’s Form This Season

Despite the off-field concerns, Hohoe United’s season has been a mixed one, with the club showing flashes of quality but struggling to maintain consistency across the campaign.

They have picked up important results at home, but have dropped points in key away fixtures, leaving them with work to do as the season approaches its decisive stages.

The club will be hoping the disciplinary case does not affect their focus, especially with crucial league matches ahead.

Upcoming Games

Hohoe United’s immediate focus now shifts back to the pitch as they prepare for upcoming Ghana Premier League fixtures in the coming weeks. They will travel to Tamale to face Karela United this weekend.
