No Akosua Serwaa as documents prove that Daddy Lumba set up DL FM with Odo Broni and his son Calvin Fosuh.

Initial rumours suggested that the demised Daddy Lumba built from the scratch his radio station, DL FM, with beleaguered wife Akosua Serwaa. The rumours later gathered momentum after Akosua Serwaa filed for administration to take custody of the 19 properties Lumba was believed to have had in his name.

To clarify and build on the facts already placed on record, a review of officially verifiable public documents provides a clear picture of the ownership of Daddy Lumba’s major assets in Ghana. These records directly contradict claims that the properties in question were jointly owned with Akosua Serwaa.

DL FM, the radio station at the centre of the discussion, is not owned by Daddy Lumba in his personal capacity. Instead, it operates under a legally registered company, Bravo Multimedia Limited, according to records at the Registrar-General’s Department.

The company was incorporated on 9 October 2014. At the time of registration, the listed directors were Daddy Lumba, his son Calvin, and Odo Broni. Importantly, the official company search shows that Daddy Lumba was the sole shareholder. There is no record of Akosua Serwaa appearing as a director, shareholder, or person with significant control in any filing related to Bravo Multimedia Limited.

These are statutory records filed with a state institution and, by their nature, carry legal authority. The documents leave no ambiguity about who owns and controls the company that operates DL FM.

Similar claims have been made regarding the land on which the radio station is located. However, checks with the relevant land title records do not support assertions of joint ownership. In Ghana, land ownership is formally registered and traceable, yet no documentation has been produced showing the land was held jointly by Daddy Lumba and Akosua Serwaa.

Despite the availability of these transparent public records, the narrative of joint ownership continues to be promoted without supporting legal documents. Rather than presenting alternative company filings or registered land titles, the claims have largely relied on public demonstrations and emotional appeals.

The factual position, supported by official documentation, remains unchanged: Daddy Lumba’s key business interests and properties in Ghana specifically DL FM and the land on which it sits were not jointly owned with Akosua Serwaa. The radio station was structured under a corporate entity solely owned by Daddy Lumba, with directorial roles assigned to himself, his son, and Odo Broni.

Until verifiable legal documents are produced to the contrary, the records held by the Registrar-General and land title authorities remain the final and authoritative reference on this matter. Public actions or personal attacks cannot alter the information contained in these state-maintained registries.

On a related issue, official records indicate that Odo Broni’s date of birth is April 1988. This places her age clearly within the bounds of Ghanaian law during the period often referenced in public discussions.

It is also important to state the legal framework clearly. Under Section 101 of Ghana’s Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29), the age of consent for sexual activity is 16 years, and it is a criminal offence to engage in sexual activity with anyone below that age. Additionally, Section 13 of the Children’s Act, 1998 (Act 560) sets 18 years as the minimum legal age for marriage in Ghana.

Facts, dates, and laws matter especially in public discourse. Where official records exist, they should guide conversations, not speculation or misinformation.
