The Ghanaian emerged winner of the heat after making a time of 53.39s but could not progress further
Ghanaian swimmer Abeiku Jackson became first in the Heat Two of Men’s 100 metres Swimming Butterfly at the ongoing 2020 Olympic Games holding in Japan.
Jackson won the heat with a time of 53.39s ahead of Steven Aimable of Senegal and Abass Qali of Kuwait who finished second and third respectively.
However, despite Abeiku’s performance which has even seen him set a new national record for Ghana, he missed out a chance to compete in the semifinals of 2020 Olympic Games by only two seconds since opponents from the other heats had better time as compared to his.
