The Phobians could be handed another tough opponents from North Africa in the Caf Confederation Cup as they hope to make it to group stage

Ghana Premier League champions Hearts of Oak could head to North Africa once again for the playoff of the Caf Confederation Cup ahead of the draw to held in Cairo on Tuesday.

The Phobians, after suffering a humiliating 6-1 defeat in the Caf Champions League against Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club, could like face another North African club.

According to Caf’s rules, clubs who were eliminated front the Champions League will not meet each other in the Confederation Cup as they will be placed in one group.

The Phobians have been placed in pot 3 which has the nine lowest ranked clubs from the Caf Champions League and they will face clubs from pot 4 which is also made up of the highest ranked clubs from Caf Confederation Cup.

Therefore, they will square it off with clubs that started the competition and have reached the playoff stage.

As a result, They could face RS Berkane (Morocco), Pyramids FC (Egypt), JS Kabylie (Morocco), CS Sfaxien (Tunisia), Al Masry (Egypt).

Also, the Phobians may be paired with Nigerian giants Enyimba FC, South giants Kaizer Chiefs or CotonSport from Cameroon.

However, since the clubs in pot three are none while those in pot four are eight, should Hearts become the odd one who ends up without getting an opponent, they will be paired with one of the clubs in pot two.

Hearts are expected to play home first in the playoffs next month before they travel to the home of their opponents a week later for the reverse fixture.
