James Akaminko joins Tanzanian club Azam FC until 2024

The midfielder has completed his switch to the East African club ahead of the new season

Former Ashanti Gold and Great Olympics midfielder James Akaminko has joined Tanzanian giants Azam FC in a two-year deal, the club has confirmed.

The 26-year-old was on the verge of joining an unnamed club in Southern part of Africa but the deal fell through.

Azam quickly came into the picture and have been able to convince Akaminko to join the club after showing to him their ambitions for the upcoming season.

Akaminko has become the fourth Ghanaian player in Tanzania after Bernard Morrison, Augustine Okrah and James Kotei.

Reports suggest that Bechem United defender Emmanuel Atta Asante is also close to joining a club in Tanzania.
