Ghana Football Association vice president George Afriyie has revealed that Asante Kotoko will have a torrid time in Congo when they face CARA Brazzaville in the second leg of the Caf Confederation Cup preliminary round on Wednesday.
The Porcupine Warriors had four penalties in the first leg but take into the game with a slim advantage after picking a 1-0 victory since three of the spot kicks were squandered.
Rumours have it that CARA have sworn heaven and earth to retaliate and Afriyie believes they will definitely frustrate Kotoko even at the airport when they arrive.
“Nobody should deceive Asante Kotoko that the Congolese club won’t intimidate them when they go to Brazzaville for the return leg because they will surely do,” Afriyie told Asempa FM.
“From what I saw in Kumasi, CARA Brazzaville will definitely do whatever within their means to frustrate Kotoko in pick qualification. They did same thing to the Black Stars when we met them in Brazzaville ahead of the Fifa World Cup qualifiers last year,” he added.
Martin Lebalnd Mokete has been appointed by Caf to officiate the game. Countrymen Souru Phatsoane and Amadou Ngom will assist him while Osiase William Koto plays the role as fourth referee.
